For as long as he can remember, Professor Adam Masterson has suffered with violent fits, the cause of which remains a mystery. Having consulted with scientists and medical specialists of all kinds to no avail, he entertains warily the possibility that these eruptions may have a psychological origin and begins seeing a psychotherapist. Shortly thereafter, the nightmares start as Professor Masterson is compelled to extend his nascent investigations into his own history beyond the bounds of the therapy room.
Dominic Pakenham studied Theology at Bristol University before going on to complete a Masters in Psychoanalysis at the University of London. Following this, he trained as a psychotherapist and worked for several years with high-risk clients within a remote clinic based in west London. He now lives in Vancouver, Canada, where he has a small private practice.
